Interview with Shiv Khanna | Khanna Casting And Films

I hope this can inspire you to become a successful entrepreneur too! Why is it important to hear the story of a successful entrepreneur?

Having the vision to become an entrepreneur is great. Making it happen is another story!

In that frame, I had the pleasure to interview Shiv Khanna. Shiv Khanna (born 11 September 1995) is a versatile model & actor known for his well-rounded performances in various TV commercials & movies. He has also ventured into casting, directing & producing various ads, building portfolios, showreels and creating corporate videos through his film production company ‘Khanna Casting and Films’ which he founded in 2015.

1. What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation?
My source of motivation are my goals. I strive to do something innovative and creative each day, so that when I go to bed at night, I am satisfied with myself that I’ve made another day count. I believe that we have just this one life and we don’t know when it’s going to end. So it’s important to make the best out of it. I do something good every day, which can benefit both me and the people around me, professionally and personally. so basically, my passion and work serve as a motivation for me.

2. Why should people choose your product/ services?
I am really passionate about what I do. I think I have the potential to share what I have learnt during my years in the industry as an actor, director and producer. Moreover, I am really eager to do that. I don’t sell my services, I sell my experience to those who want to achieve better results in the industry.

3. What is your competitive advantage & why can’t it be copied?
I believe, every person has a unique quality to give to the world depending on their own unique
experiences, and that’s what makes every person different. In the beginning stages of my career
when I was an actor, my job expected me to understand what the director wanted from me.
Therefore, I was also able to gauge what is required to be done while working behind the camera.

Later when I started working as an assistant director, my role reversed- I had to direct the actor and let him know what was expected of them in a particular scene. So, having experienced both sides of the camera, with Khanna Castings and Films, I bring exclusive ideas to the table. This is what sets us apart from the rest.

And about getting our ideas copied; I think people can copy your ideas, but they can’t copy your execution and your passion.

4. What risks do you face in your line of work?
I work with the principle that one can create their own good luck by taking the necessary risks to open the door to change and progress. I think this is the key to the success of most businesses. Similarly, we too keep experimenting with new things each time we set out to produce a film.

Some turn out to be a great success, some don’t. But we work our way through everything.

5. What comes first for you, money or emotions?
I am a person who values emotions a lot. Money is a temporary asset, but emotions have the
power to either make a person, or break him.

6. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Strengths- I never miss deadlines. I’m highly organised and I’ve applied my natural skills to
organise people and projects in all aspects of my work.

And though we all have weaknesses, no one really likes to admit them. So, it’s better if I keep the secret safe with me, but let’s say, like many people, I too have my flaws.

7. Tell me about an accomplishment you are most proud of?
I am proud of how I became a director and producer in the film and TV industry at just 25 years of age. I am extremely proud of my production house and casting agency- “Khanna Casting and Films”(www.khannacastingandfilms.com ). While this may seem as a long and time consuming
journey, with my hard work, I have climbed up the ladder and made myself a valuable person in
the film and TV industry. Moreover, I know that, as a company and production house, “Khanna Casting and Films” will continue to grow.

8. How do you handle pressure?
I just take a deep breath, remain calm and focus on what needs to be accomplished.

9. What advice would you give to someone starting out?
In the industry of lights and dazzle, it’s not about who you know. It’s about WHO YOU ARE. So
be yourself, set your goals, focus and take the first step towards them. Make each day worth living your dream. Plan your day and in the end analyse the day’s efforts.

10. Whats your fitness routine ?
I woke up 7 in the morning then drink about 4 glasses of hot water. And then I go to gym exact after my morning routines and before gym I eat 6 egg white.

I workout about an hour or more ( depend on my work schedule )

I eat healthy food – homemade food like chapatis, boil daal, green veggies, butter milk / milk / black coffee without sugar, fruits & salad.

Then I carry on with my work routine – shooting, casting, meetings & all.

And to stay mentally fit I do meditation everyday about 20-30 minutes.

11. What you do in your free time?
Like to read something & spending time with family. Watching movies a good movie is worth your time. Movie can both be entertainment and also teach you something.

12. One thing that you love most about you?
I’M ALIVE

13. How to become a actor any tips?
You have to be a real hero in life.

Practice daily to stay sharp.

Audition, Audition, Audition.

Read, imagine, be positive.

Most important don’t compare yourself with others because you are unique & different.

Best of luck 👍
