Interview with Drishti Brahmania | Happy Puppy Organics
I hope this can inspire you to become a successful entrepreneur too! Why is it important to hear the story of a successful entrepreneur?
Having the vision to become an entrepreneur is great. Making it happen is another story!
In that frame, I had the pleasure to interview Drishti Brahmania, founder of Happy Puppy Organics, a brand that makes organic all-natural pet grooming products.
7 out of 10 dogs get cancer due to toxins and artificial chemicals found in commercial products. The harmful chemicals found in them are also the reason behind a host of other ailments. Which is why the happy puppy was created. Our products are created on the principles of aromatherapy, which is why we only use organic essential oils in our natural formulations.
1. What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e what’s your source of motivation?
My daily source of motivation is customer feedback! Knowing my products helped relive some ailments that their pet was facing pushes me to research more and keep striving to formulate quality products.
2. Why should people choose your product/services?
All of Happy Puppy’s products are handmade in small batches using organic and natural ingredients, making sure your pet gets only the best that nature has to offer.
3. What’s your competitive advantage and why can’t it be copied?
Our competitive advantage lies in our customer testimonials and the personal relationships we build with every single one of them.
We would like to believe that our personal consultations with clients and their pets and helping them choose what product to use, gives us the advantage of helping them out on a personal level.
4. What risks are you facing?
The market is still apprehensive about choosing natural and sustainable products over commercial ones.
5. Have you considered any alliance/partnership?
Yes, we have some big news coming up and are in the works of collaborating on something never been done before in India. It’s still early to divulge further details though.
6. What are your cash flow projections? When will you break even? How much will you need in investments?
We’re bootstrapped and self-funded, by the power of the universe we will expand slowly and strongly.
7. What comes first for you money or emotions?
I have always been an emotional person, and the company was founded keeping the well-being of pets’ in mind. So yes, emotions first then money.
8. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
I love research and my brain is always buzzing with new ideas and taking in new information.
My weakness is I am highly introverted.
9. Tell me about an accomplishment you are most proud of.
It was our first pet fair and a child walked up to us, bought our shampoo and said “wow! Your brand is the Kama Ayurveda for pets!”. However, every time a customer uses my product and tells me how much they loved it, I feel like I’ve accomplished good things.
10. How do you handle the pressure?
A quick walk in the evening, helps me shut the stress out and relax.
11. What made you start your company?
After one of our furry babies suffered from severe skin related trouble, I went through extensive research about the ingredients used in making pet grooming products.
I was shocked to know that some of the chemicals found in commercial grooming products are cancer-causing and could potentially be lethal for your pet! The fragrances are artificial, they contain SLS/SLES and Parabens which cause problems like dry, itchy skin and poor fur quality.
I took it upon myself to learn aromatherapy and became a certified organic product formulator. I worked with vets and formulated our special range of handmade organic products to give pets nothing but the best of nature.
12. What advice would you give to someone starting out?
If you are super passionate about something, take a leap of faith and go for it. The universe has your back.

Way to go Drishti.. keep up your good work and success will follow. All the best!!
Am at wonder & awe at the Drishti’s passion for the business & know for sure this is the right attitude to have for a budding entrepreneur. Keep It Up !!!
It is moreover a unique concept and will slowly but surely resonate while we evolve from the chemicals/drugs industry that uses shorter & cheaper ways to suppress the symptoms rather than cure it or even give rise to another kind of illness not know to man.
So going the nature way is surely a thumbs up, as it has been proved to work throughout generations.
Thanks for the article Rahul !
Hey Drishti.
