Interview with Balaji Shetty | VIN4X4 HARDTOPS

I hope this can inspire you to become a successful entrepreneur too! Why is it important to hear the story of a successful entrepreneur?

Having the vision to become an entrepreneur is great. Making it happen is another story!

In that frame, I had the pleasure to interview Balaji Shetty, founder of VIN4X4 HARDTOPS. VIN4X4 is a one-stop-shop for all 4×4 modifications of Mahindra Thar, Gypsy, Scorpio, etc. VIN4X4 are the manufacturer and traders for all 4×4 types of equipment.

1. What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e what’s your source of motivation?
Thought of becoming a successful entrepreneur one day gets me out of the bed in the morning. And then there’s one line- “build the brand, sell the brand”. Earlier people used to go to Coimbatore and Kerala for modifications. But today I feel proud when a customer comes from Kerala, Andhra, Mumbai, Chennai, Coimbatore to our VIN4X4. Now we have established branches in Hyderabad and Mysore.

2. Why should people choose your product/services?
We focus on three things:
*Quality
*Comfort
*Reliability

3. What’s your competitive advantage and why can’t it be copied?
Our product uniqueness is that we produce high quality and stronger output for better performance. We develop and design things. So, that’s is something that I think can’t be copied. We are a group of creative people who believe in delivering a better and unique product. You can copy the idea but you can’t copy creativity.

4. What risks are you facing?
Lack of support from the government organisation is our biggest hurdle.

5. Have you considered any alliance/partnership?
Nope, not right now.

6.What comes first for you money or emotions.
For me, emotions come first.

7. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Hard work is my strength. I believe you can achieve anything if you work hard towards your goal.

8. Tell me about an accomplishment you are most proud of.
I’m proud of VIN4X4 HardTops. I wanted to establish it like industry, and I did it.

9. How do you handle the pressure?
To be true and honest Music and Sadhguru Speeches helps me a lot in handling the pressure.

10. What advice would you give to someone starting out?
I have a simple advice to someone who is thinking to start his own venture:
PLAN
THINK
EXECUTE
