Interview with Gopalan Anish Acharya | Medveda Educare

In that frame, we had the pleasure to interview Gopalan Anish Acharya, CEO of Medveda Educare Pvt Ltd.

1. What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e what’s your source of motivation?
The kick of my incomplete tasks wake me up early in the morning. My Crystal mirror is my biggest motivation and it always pushes me that I have a long way to go. I get up every morning thinking of it as a new day and I have to do my best in whatever I do.

2. Why should people choose your product/services?
Our work is totally related to students and their parents so it’s our company’s responsibility that we provide them with best knowledge. It is a fact when we say that people will come to you when you are better than others. So it’s as simple as that we provide some best services to students who are planning to go abroad for further studies. We consult with them and suggest to them all good options for studying and living in foreign country.

3. What’s your competitive advantage and why can’t it be copied?
As we are the direct source in the market we have the maximum power of fluctuating the cost and services. What we believe is that even the first copy can not compete with the original.

4. What risks are you facing?
In business the most common risk is Business Interruption risk. Natural calamities, political revolution and wars are the biggest risk in any business when you are working in international marketing. Other than that there are security risks as well like cyber risks and technological mistakes.

5. Have you considered any alliance/partnership?
I don’t believe in partnership and on the other hand I also believe that business is a team work so we are open for joint ventures and alliances for a certain segment of our business.

6. What are your cash flow projections? When will you break even? How much will you need in investments?
As our business is considered as one of the recession free area so the cash flow will have to hit the 100% of projection. A break should not lengthen more than a period of 2 years. There is no limit of investments.

7. What comes first for you money or emotions?
It’s a fact that Money is essential in life but for me the first thing that matters is emotions and feelings.

8. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
My strengths are to prompt counter of my weakness and my weakness is I can’t clone myself.

9. Tell me about an accomplishment you are most proud of.
I don’t think that I have accomplished anything big but I’m happy about certain thing like working with Tracy Smith, a Senior Avid Certified Instructor in Video Symphony and with International Co-coordinator of ACMT, CA. I have also met world-famous personalities like Vice-President of IUK, International Relations Officer Sally O’s Teen U.S.A, CEO of ACMT U.S.A Daniel Dorim Kim and many more.

10. How do you handle the pressure?
A power Nap helps me to handle the pressure. As a calm mind can only guide to come out of all hurdles. Also I think doing something normal like spending your time with your family can be a real stress buster.

11. If you sold your company today, what would be the tone of the conversation? What would you want to gain? What would you want to avoid losing?
If ever I sell my company my tone of conversation will be as I am handing over my precious Dynasty and my company will be going to adapt to the new owner. I would be gaining time which will be more precious and I will avoid losing the trust of my colleagues and employees.

12. What advice would you give to someone starting out?
For all the people who are stepping their foot in this industry I would like to say to them that if you are aiming for big then start with small, base a concrete foundation for a high rise long term success. Short cuts will cut you short.

13. What’s the one question you were expecting most and I haven’t asked you?
I was expecting you to ask me what is the experience of working in the International market. So the answer to that question will be that working in an international market is a length of experience. You’ll have time to get to grips with your role and immerse yourself in their local culture. You will have a chance to dive deeper into a project, take on more responsibility, and have a greater impact on you and your work.

I’m Gopalan Anish Acharya, CEO of Medveda Educare Pvt Ltd. I’m also an educational consultant. I did a short term computer course from Burbank USA that makes me help aspirants in studying from India to abroad. My company provides medical seats in countries like Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
