Interview with Pranav Arora aka “Lucha Yaar”

I hope this can inspire you to become a successful video content creator too! Why is it important to hear the story of a successful video content creator?

Having the vision to become a video content creator is great. Making it happen is another story!

In that frame, I had the pleasure to interview Pranav Arora. Pranav Arora aka “Lucha Yaar” is known for his cooking tutorial video on Instagram.

1. Hi Pranav! Please introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi, my name is Pranav Arora, I am a content creator on Instagram. My content is mainly cooking tutorials with a comedic twist. You might know me as ‘Lucha yaar’ or from my tag line ‘single Kuria DM karre’.

2. When did you start making cooking video content? How much time does each video take?
I started making these videos earlier this year, on 15th Jan 2020 to be exact. I used to continuously annoy my mum while she was cooking and I used to make funny comments all the time and then I ended up getting shouted at by her. To resolve that, my sister came up with an amazing idea to start posting my commentary on the internet instead, like that was gonna stop stressing my mum out. Well now the tables have turned and they both come into the kitchen to interrupt my cooking. Each video takes around 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on the video I’m making. Then editing takes about 10-20 minutes. I usually record, edit and post all on the same day.

3. How were your initial days? How many views did you get in your first video?
Initially, I obviously didn’t have any idea about how the videos would go viral and I was only making the content to make my friends and family laugh, I’m always the clown in the room. Some of my initial videos were on Maggi, Aalo ka Prontha and cha. They currently have around 50k views but when I was creating that content it had around 10k views that took me by surprise because I really didn’t expect them to go viral so quickly. I started getting messages from people I didn’t know telling me how my videos make them laugh and that they are sharing it with their friends and family. It really warmed my heart knowing that I could bring a smile to their faces and that my videos were becoming known. I told my family about it with so much excitement and they supported me since day 1 especially my sister because she was constantly sharing the videos and all her friends were messaging me telling me how much they love it.

4. There is something else you do?
As you all know I’m foody so I’m currently studying catering and hospitality in college and hope to pursue the path into the food individual in the future.

5. How do you feel having more than 68k+ followers on Instagram and how much do you aim for?
I feel honored that I have such a large number of supports who love my content. I never expected to get such a large following in such a short amount of time. It would be my pleasure to bring a smile on as many faces as possible especially around these difficult times and that’s my main aim.

6. Who is your favorite actor & Actress? What inspired you to get into this world digital content creation?
I really enjoy Punjabi cinema and humor, some of my favorite artists include Parmish Verma, Gurpreet Ghuggi & Sonam Bajwa. Kapil Sharma has been my biggest inspiration alongside the Punjabi cinema. I remember watching his shows every time with my family as a kid trying to stay up past my bedtime.

7. What advice do you want to give to the students/ young generation who want to be video content creators?
My advice to anyone out there especially young content creators is that they should create what they are passionate about. If you’re making comedy videos, make sure you believe in your jokes and they make you laugh even when you have watched the video over 5-10 times before posting it. I have always been the class clown and the khappi one in the family and learned a lot from my dad’s jokes too. I made my teachers laugh more than I did their homework. Making people laugh and cooking good food are my two main passions hence why I decided to mix the two together and create the content that I do today.

Thank you so much for reaching out and acknowledging me. I would also like to thank all my supporters and I want you all to know that I’ll continue to make you laugh. Lastly, ‘single kudia DM kare’.
