Interview with Prerna Manchanda | Waaxxyy
I hope this can inspire you to become a successful entrepreneur too! Why is it important to hear the story of a successful entrepreneur?
Having the vision to become an entrepreneur is great. Making it happen is another story!
In that frame, I had the pleasure to interview Prerna Manchanda, founder of Waaxxyy. Waaxxyy deals with a wide range of customized wax seal stamps that will give a beautiful look to your invites, gifts, cards, books, and many more.
1. What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e what’s your source of motivation?
My source of motivation is my urge to always do more and never stop. Also to deliver the best quality products to clients and grab all the opportunity that comes my way.
2. Why should people choose your product/services?
Waxxyy provides all the services which are custom made based on client necessity, budget, and color preference because each design shows the emotions and personality of the individual. We are also known for delivering the product on time and these days everyone wants their gifts, cards, envelopes, etc should stand out in society.
3. What’s your competitive advantage and why can’t it be copied?
I won’t say competitive advantage but I actually feel like each design is based on different personalities and has a sense of purity in it, and the plus point is a wide range of colors and for us, every client is like a family member to us and we understand their concept and to give a personal touch to the product.
4. What risks are you facing?
The risk that I am facing right now is actually explaining people what exactly the product is and how it works because as it’s not that much common in Delhi NCR right now so people are not sure about it but they do find it beautiful. And it’s an early-stage startup right now, I really need to have on toes to produce different designs every day and provide samples.
5. Have you considered any alliance/partnership?
Yes. It’s too early to say when and how but the reason I would collaborate is to increase business output, reach a new market but right now no plans for the partnership.
6. What are your cash flow projections? When will you break even? How much will you need in investments?
Waaxxyy got its first project within 2 days after setting up the company, and after that people are getting to know about the concept and slowly we are getting requirements. I would say it’s a good start and many more projects are yet to come.
7. What comes first for you money or emotions?
Emotions.
Nothing is greater than emotions because that’s what makes the product beautiful.
8. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
My strength is my vibrant creative young mind and my weakness is being my own critic.
9. Tell me about an accomplishment you are most proud of.
Every accomplishment either big or small gives me deep pleasure and satisfaction. The biggest one is yet to come. Hoping for the best.
10. How do you handle the pressure?
If you enjoy your work then you won’t feel the pressure but whenever I feel demotivated I talk to my mom and my best friend because they are actually the reason behind my motivation and I eat a lot of chocolate.
11. If you sold your company today, what would be the tone of the conversation? What would you want to gain? What would you want to avoid losing?
I have no intentions to sell my company anytime this is my dream and I will never give this up, I’d like to gain a position where I could create an even bigger market and would avoid losing the originality of the business and above all the team that is with me during the time of prosperity.
12. What advice would you give to someone starting out?
Don’t be scared of the challenges coming your way because to gain something or to reach some position yo will have to take risks and self-motivation is very important and you should not be scared of failures because they actually teach us what life is all about.
13. Who do you aspire to become?
