Interview with Abhinav Anand “Bade Miya” | TVF

I hope this can inspire you to become a successful Actor/Director too! Why is it important to hear the story of a successful Actor/Director?

Having the vision to become an Actor/Director is great. Making it happen is another story!

In that frame, I had the pleasure to interview Abhinav Anand, popularly known as “Bade Miya”.

1. Please tell us about your Journey from Civil Engineer to a Youtuber?
The journey from Civil engineer to you tuber started from my Btech carrier. When I was in the very 2nd year “camera was just like as an escape to me” in such a situation. I started as a Fashion photographer to grow up in the Media line.

2. Please tell us something about 2013’s viral video Gangs of Berozghar?
In 2013 “Gangs of Wasseypur” gave me an impulse to start as a filmmaker. I was very much excited and inspired by this very film. Anurag Kashyap’s idea and plotting paved a gateway in our minds to make something of that sort. We scripted a story with the same background as “Wasseypur” with a group of my college friends. It was just for fun and a moment making for our college carrier. But I hardly knew that our “Gangs of Berozgar” will grow so famous. It was based upon the college placement scenario where core branch students find it difficult to sit for placements and strive hard for getting placed. The first part of our film grew very famous, even the leading actor of Wasseypur Manjo Bajpayee and the director itself praised us. So this was the beginning of my carrier in film making. TVF also appreciated in and in 2013 I was offered an internship in TVF. But later I gave away that chance. Since my parents wanted me to work as a civil engineer and I never told them that I was interested in film making.

3. Who is Your inspiration or who is your Favourite Youtuber or Actor?
My inspiration is my “father” since he is a civil engineer itself. And his manner of working hard with dedication inspired me to lead in life. If related to the film industry “Anurag Kashyap” is my ideal. I look forward to being into film making and direction just like Kashyap Sir. Apart from them even Sourav Ganguly, Irfan Khan is also my ideals whose journey inspires me very much to work hard and grow in life.

4. What advice do you want to give to the students/ young generation who want to be Youtuber or Actor?
My advice to this generation is very simple, I think whatever we love we should do it with dedication. I was a civil engineer but later it clicked into my mind that I should quit this job. Why? Because according to me I was not able to give my 100% in that job. My happiness was into acting and film making so I thought of quitting my job and convince my parents. They had no idea about this line but I convinced them later. What my idea is that “energy never dies” if you surely want to be successful, you should keep going. Especially in acting field patience and energy are highly required. Things take time to happen. Many people give up but we should keep trying till we get satisfaction on our level.

5.  How TVF and TSP happened to you?
In 2016 after trying so much I completely came into the film industry. After convincing my parents, I made a call to TVF and conveyed my situation to them. I told them about my internship offer with TVF in 2013. They appreciated my work and saw my recently made videos and movies. I asked them to give me a job so that on that basis I could convince my parent’s fully not partially. TVF was just like a pathfinder to me. A telephonic interview was held by TVF and they appreciated my performance in the interview and they showed faith in me. Later my father saw my videos and offers from TVF, he took some time to get convinced. Finally, I was permitted to shift into Bombay to work in TVF.

6. Please tell us something about your most loved character Bade Miya?
“Bade Chote” character was developed after working on my idea. My friend Akash suggested me about a person named Arun Kushwaha who worked in Wipro. He told me about the vines and short movies Arun made brilliantly and was termed as “chotey miyan”. So I thought of bringing him into TVF since this was a very new character which could be fruitful for TVF. ” Bade chotey “was a very unique concept so we thought of working on it. Initially, we didn’t decide about making spoofs with Badey chotey. These two funny characters consisted of two people who wildly did some kind of irrelevant activities that seemed very funny. Firstly we tried short movies with these two characters which failed to emerge as a hit. Later we tried a spoof which gradually turned into a hit, so we decided to make spoofs with these two characters.”Indian Idol” audition of Dhinchak Pooja was the first spoof we made which grew highly famous. Later we came up with many spoofs such as “Khatron Ke Khiladi” etc which was highly appreciated.

7. Is YouTube your only income source or there is something else you do?
I work as an employee in TVF and that is the only source of my income. It is usual and similar to a 9-5 job in an office. I also get paid monthly and my working hour varies from morning till evening and even night.

8. What excites you the most Acting/Writing or working as a director?
I always wanted to be a Director who can act also well. So I would say that my interest lies in the direction as well as acting. Whenever I direct something it gives me some excitation and refreshment. The ratio of acting and direction is 49:50 to me. I also like acting but the direction is a level up to that. I enjoy doing both acting and direction.

9. Some words for your fans and YouTube family?
I never thought that even I will also be famous and will grow some fanbase. Whenever I come across a fan or people who appreciate me I grew emotional. It gives me pleasure that my work is inspiring people and making them happy. Lots of love to all of the people out there who appreciate me and inspire me to work hard. I have just started my journey and I promise to never disappoint you all. Keep loving TVF, TSP and all of the characters. Hopefully many more new things to come. And I wish that your love and affection will remain the same.
