Interview with Arun Gupta | EduKyu

I hope this can inspire you to become a successful entrepreneur too! Why is it important to hear the story of a successful entrepreneur?

Having the vision to become an entrepreneur is great. Making it happen is another story!

In that frame, I had the pleasure to interview Arun Gupta, founder of EduKyu.

“Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to stand out, don’t sit at home and think. Get out and get busy.” – Dale Carnegie

1. What is EduKyu about?
Most people are unaware of their need for their personality and career development training and are not able to identify the perfect suited trainers for fulfilling their skill requirement.
EduKyu has emerged as a team to cater to such needs aiming towards bridging the gap between trainers and learners. At EduKyu, we exist to create experiences where the desire to learn and eagerness to serve comes together.

2. How did you come up with the concept of EduKyu?
It is being difficult for Indian organizations to meet up with the aspirations of the Individuals. That has resulted in dissatisfaction and increased attrition rate in the organizations. On the other hand, whereas employees are expecting growth in their life, they are not acquiring the skills that are required to develop themselves to contribute to their individual life as well as to the organizations they are working in. Today the organizations have started realizing the importance of training and development. Through the process of training and development, the employees can be developed where they can become an asset to the organizations and in that process, they can take care of their individual and professional life.

3. What are your competitive advantages?
It is your schedule, your decision. We connect with corporate projects at fingertips. For trainers, it is market themselves and creates their own demand. We let the world know who they are. Each personal touch with a trainer, transparent payments and just one stop event management.

4. How easy is it to connect as trainer or trainee and what are the features?
It is just a few easy steps for training partner software. Sign up and create your profile as a trainer or trainees. Connect with the wide range as per requirements. Set your own workshops and share your experiences. The software has the dashboard to keep an eye on all activity, to track the pending projects, track the query, check if any pending payments or to measure cash inflow.

5. What are the accomplishments you are proud of?
“It has been a pleasure staying connected with EduKyu. In my 12 years of experiences, I have never seen a website which is so much dedicated to trainers” – Rashid Abdullah (Training & development officer, SLS Services)
“I booked two workshops through EduKyu.com and the quality of assistance that I have received was unmatchable. No hidden charges and complete transparency regarding each activity is what I liked the most.” – Pradeep Beniwal (Corporal, Indian Air Force)
To receive these as the feedback and experience is the most wonderful feeling and this is what I am most proud of.

6. How are Trainers benefited?
Though one is an extraordinary life coach, that does not guarantee success as a Trainer. Training requires a lot to do more than creating content and development. Limited platform to connect to learners and unsatisfied with personal branding in relation to the corpus of funds spent by the trainer and the major issues faced. EduKyu.com helps in the best solution for personal branding, maximizing the visibility in the trainer’s world and manage the entire plethora of the activities through a single click.

7. Have you considered any alliance?
We are today the team of 18+ Career counsellors, 999+ working professionals, working our best on 30+ specialized management courses.

8. What are the major soft skills training topics you have covered so far?
The signature topics like Born Again(motivational) by Mr Amar Choudhary, Hack your time clock (Time Management) by Mr Swadesh Chakraborty, Presenting to win (Presentation Skills), Be a people Magnet (Leadership and management), The Loudspeakers!- where the impact is louder than voice (Communication skills), EGO-Let Go! (Transactional Analysis), Being in-charge of your Emotions! (Emotional Intelligence), Troubleshooting at the right time! (Problem Solving) and many more have been covered so far.

9. What risks are you facing?
The biggest challenge we have faced on the initial stage is to stable our sales team.

10. What are your cash flow projections? How much more investment would you need?
We are based on 3 locations currently. Delhi NCR, Noida and Kolkata. 5Lacs per location is the cash flow projections. For the expansion of EduKyu, we need 0.5 Cr.

11. What comes first to you, Money or Emotions?
Emotions. Because emotions will further lead to earning money.

12. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Self-motivated, passionate to train and sales oriented are my strengths. Monetary driven is a weakness.

13. What advice would you give to someone starting out?
The startup is not just a word. It is a lifestyle. Don’t get married to your idea, Listen to what customer says and implement it. You have to sweat money and hard work without expecting any return on the initial stage. Focus on growth and try to stable your team.
