Interview with Badal Nyalang | Marketing Wire

I hope this can inspire you to become a successful entrepreneur too! Why is it important to hear the story of a successful entrepreneur?

Having the vision to become an entrepreneur is great. Making it happen is another story!

In that frame, I had the pleasure to interview Badal Nyalang, the founder and CEO of Marketing Wire.

1. What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e what’s your source of motivation?
The key is here is to know that you’re going to learn and grow every single day, this helps you push through and keeps you motivated.

2. Why should people choose your product/services?
The actual answer here is why should people work with you and your team. There are tons of other businesses with similar services and solutions but not everyone has the same set of values. How we build relationships with our clients matters the most to us. Each client for us is an extended part of our family. And to top it off we have our own criteria for client selection. So basically, Marketing Wire is not for everyone, be it clients or team members.

3. What’s your competitive advantage and why can’t it be copied?
One thing that I’m always proud of is our location. Some see it as a disadvantage, however for me being from the Northeast of India gives you a fresh pool of talent that is not yet exposed to the corporate world. The youths just need a slight push and they are off to grow themselves, the business and our clients. Now, this is something that can’t just be copied.

4. What risks are you facing?
There are tons of it and it follows in any new venture. The risk of whether or not your idea will work. The risk of hiring people and being sustainable. The risk of getting in the right set of team members. All these are the basics; however, your belief and constant execution are what matters.

5. Have you considered any alliance/partnership?
Though there no official partnership as of yet. But we do have our alliances spread out across the world. Through these small steps, we are further working on increasing our reach globally.

Furthermore, we have also recently started a Northeast digital acceleration programme that aims at partnering with small businesses of the region and help them grow via digital marketing.

6. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
The best way to describe our strength is our three pillars that work on Speed, quality and reliability. Not just these, we have team members that boast credentials of global certifications, be it design, marketing or web development.

Well for our weaknesses, there are always loophole in almost every process. We just work on those one at a time as we work to build our future.

7. Tell me about an accomplishment you are most proud of.
We are always on a high when we bring in results for any of our clients. That’s an everyday achievement for us.
On the other hand, when we managed the digital marketing aspect of one of the top global events held at Sharjah, that welcomed more than 2.22 million people was probably one of our noteworthy accomplishment.

8. What advice would you give to someone starting out?
Learn and execute! That’s my personal advice to everyone. Stop the overthinking dilemma and start executing. You can always have failures but your success would depend on the learnings from each of those failures. If you want to do something, do it now and give your 100%.
