Interview with Mohnish Zaveri | Forcyst
After having worked as a freelancer for more than two years, in 2015, a Mechanical Engineer by profession, wanted to explore the entrepreneurial opportunities. “I had over two years hand on experience in the technical field with help of few local workshop experts. I soon realized that I wanted to explore more and more technologies and help organisations to develop the entire product under a single roof.” It instantly appealed to Mohnish, who started to get one by one technology under a single domain along with Mehul (Chief Technology Officer, Forcyst) making it easier for his clients.
Forcyst, an engineering company, defines itself as a Product Development company with a team of highly skilled engineers providing End-to-End solutions helping Small Enterprises to big Multinational companies achieve their full potential. At an instant, their work might look like consultants but what keeps them par from others is they not only develop products but hands-on support on the execution from prototyping till production while working on a progressive based model.

1. What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e what’s your source of motivation?
Heading as an entrepreneur is a natural force that pushes you beyond a limit. Keeping the confidence that there is always a scope of improvisation, bringing new concepts to life and how your work brings smiles on the end user is the only source of motivation.
2. Why should people choose your product/services?
In today’s world, technologies have advanced abruptly past a decade. Technologies being available as simple desktop printers have consecutively reduced the time for product development but for the clients who do not want to work with 10 different experts on a specific project is what brings Forcyst to action. Before taking up any project, our team builds the strategies and takes all the processes under our heads to bring the product live. This gives the client confidence as the product not only remains in the form of Pen Paper model but will have a physical feel of the same too. Secondly, since we have all the expertise from Product Designing, Analytical testing, Prototyping and final Production, we reduce the substantial time and cost on projects.
3. What’s your competitive advantage and why can’t it be copied?
Our main advantage is our core technical and project management team which works round the clock to execute projects before timeline. It cannot be copied instantly as we have developed methods over the years to ease the concept development and reducing time at every stage of product development. Our team works on the Sunday-to-Sunday model making us available for our clients 365 days round the clock.
4. What risks are you facing?
When you deal with actual working products, there’s always a risk of it failing at any stage. Without risks, there is no possibility of failure and so there is no innovation. Since we provide End-to-End services from concept to production, there is always a risk of backfire of all the inputs if not executed properly. But that’s what our team is specialized in for making it almost zero risks for our clients.
5. Have you considered any alliance/partnership?
No, we have no alliance or partnership as the projects we work are confidential and comes under non-disclosures terms ensuring client’s data secured with us.
6. What are your cash flow projections? When will you break even? How much will you need in investments?
Our business model is such that we did not require a substantial investment to take up this journey.
We are fortunate enough that our working model is able to generate the revenue right from day one. Past the company’s existence, we have seen a substantial growth in the revenue with a scale-up of 45% per year. We normally have a strategic team, which decides the need to specific technology setup within the company and manages the cash flow accordingly setting up cut-to-cut in-house setup. Our execution team is the pillar of our company.
7. What comes first for you money or emotions?
Products are always emotions driven, be it a bottle or a gadget or an automobile and we being a product development company, clients emotions are our top priority though emotions come with a price.
8. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Our strength is our planning and execution team which helps us deliver the projects on or at times before timelines. We have an individual expert for each type of technical domain. Since we take up turnkey projects a single mistake from within our technical team can cost us millions putting ourselves responsible for the failures.
9. Tell me about an accomplishment you are most proud of.
Seeing your developed product in the market is itself an achievement, but the feeling of accomplishment which makes us proud is the strong team and problem-solving methods Forcyst has developed over the years of experience which is an achievement in a company within itself.
10. How do you handle the pressure?
When you have more than 5 different domains working at the same time, there is ought to be pressure on each head. You can never decrease the pressure but you can definitely distribute it by framing the timelines. That’s what Forcyst is famous for. There were times when we were shocked to almost zero in terms of deliverables but we passed it very well because of the coordination of strategy and execution team. That’s what an entrepreneur does to reward him with that title.
11. If you sold your company today, what would be the tone of the conversation? What would you want to gain? What would you want to avoid losing?
There is no second thought for selling the company. Forcyst has grown immensely because of its strong team and methods of project execution experience over the years. We are always open for technology bound collaborations. We are always in moto of making technologies available for our clients in no time at reasonable commercials.
12. What advice would you give to someone starting out?
My advice to anyone who wants to start is “GIVE IT A TRY” because if you succeed you will move ahead and if you fail, you will definitely find the solution and succeed. In both the ways you are moving ahead. Do not restrict yourself with the boundaries of age, gender, capital, religion or place.
When an entrepreneur starts his or her journey, there are at times you will feel choked in terms of capital and resources and also parted away from social life but that’s what every entrepreneurship journey demands. There are no set rules for this journey. Things will never be right, you need to make them so. When you’ll start your journey, no one will follow you but when you’ll succeed, the world will follow you. Plan it! Team up! Execute your dreams!
13. Have you ever failed in life throughout your entrepreneur journey?
Yes, definitely. Not once, twice or thrice but more than 10 times in terms of capital and technical parts. Initially was completely broke in terms of capital with no financial supporting hand but the belief and efforts of bringing the company up only on its strong technical pillars are what has made Forcyst achieve the heights where it is now. Holding the pressures throughout the journey will succeed you in every domain of entrepreneur journey.
That is such a brilliant successful story to read. You are a movitation & an inspiration for the future generations to come. Hope to get to read more about your journey in future. Cheers!
