Interview with Shashidhar Rajan | Brand Radiator

I hope this can inspire you to become a successful entrepreneur too! Why is it important to hear the story of a successful entrepreneur?

Having the vision to become an entrepreneur is great. Making it happen is another story!

In that frame, I had the pleasure to interview Shashidhar Rajan, Co-founder & COO of Brand Radiator.

A natural tendency in a human being is to be afraid while planning something new or to go out of their comfort zone. While considering failures our biggest excuse is “Log Kya Kahenge”. It is never a cakewalk journey to get out of comfort zone and enter into the Entrepreneurial journey. But there is always something called “Entrepreneurship ka Keeda” which never lets you sleep.

1. As an introduction, can you please tell us about yourself and what brought you to quit the comfort zone and not choose cakewalk?
I belong from a village named Jiwachhpur in Purnea, Bihar. I have completed my Engineering in Computer Science from Dehradun & Masters in Business Analytics from Alliance University Bengaluru. I have a total experience of 5 years, working in Digital & IT domain in Mumbai & Bengaluru. Bihar has a huge potential in different sectors like Digital & IT, Agriculture, Fishery, Medicines and other service industries. We just need to find the problems and work on the solutions effectively. Utilizing the need and demand we started digital marketing and IT company named Brand Radiator. We are in digital advertising and brand building domain focusing on Digital India Mission to create a digital aware sprinter environment.

2. What’s your source of Motivation?
My passion for my work motivates me to get out of bed. My responsibility towards the team of 31 members motivates me.

3. Why should people choose your services?
Right for Right. We have taken a step forward, knowing the challenges. To revolutionize digital marketing in Bihar and every such state and making people aware of the power of digital marketing as well as support to realize the dream of Digital India. We are also trying to generate employment opportunities so that the talents of the state do not go out in search of a job and we can preserve the brain-drain. We in Brand Radiator believe that it is very important to send the right message to the right audience. We follow demographic research methods based on real-time analytical data to create segmented and engaging content for our clients.

4. What’s your competitive advantage and why can’t it be copied?
We don’t jump directly into the solution. Rather, we ponder over the question. We have devised our own analysis methodology where we evaluate each and every crux of the situation and henceforth put the solution. We follow yardstick of quality with Six Sigma DMAIC technique, sought with a finger on the pulse of market and competitors trend, analytics-driven content creation, clients centric ROI driven solutions and services based on our advanced quantitative analytics techniques and process-oriented bold and fearless design technologies, Yardstick of quality with Six Sigma DMAIC technique.

5. How did your interest in IT and E-commerce build?
In my early age, whenever I visited my native place I always saw a sugar mill from my terrace and dreamt about setting up my own factory. Eventually, my interest went into the field of technology. During my graduation, I was curious about the internet and business related things. E-commerce industry was booming and I had several ideas related to that I had started few online portals named as IndiaEducation Express, Cruxon & Coupons Market, which helped me a lot in learning the IT & Digital business.

6. What comes first for you money or emotions?
Emotions always come first for me. I strongly believe that when people are emotional they tend to do something good. And good work always pays off.

7. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Being perceptive, practical & logical is my strength. It’s all about what is working and what is not. Concrete things and legitimate ideas always excite me. It’s tough to balance work life and personal life together for me have always been my weakness.

8. Who are your major clients?
We are currently working with clients like Mahindra and Mahindra, Hindusthan Samachar, Confederation of Indian Industry, Aditya Vision and numerous others.

9. How do you handle the pressure?
I stay focused and try to maintain calm demeanour in an adverse situation. Even though the day might be full of stress, I keep my mind firmly focused on completing regular responsibilities. Staying calm helps to take things in stride and complete the tasks even in difficult circumstances.

10. Who is your Inspiration?
Jeff Bezos, Waren Buffet and my parents.

11. Brand Radiator has a co-founder. Tell us a little about them?
Her name is Himani Mishra, I call her the #PowerPuffCEO, she has more than 13 years of experiences working with corporate giant and she is the digital women award winner organized by CNBC & Facebook. We came together with a mission to make the Digital India program success in Tier – 2 & Tier – 3 cities. Her favourite quote is “Together We Win”.

12. What advice would you give to someone starting out?
Believe in yourself. Believe on your idea and get out of your comfort zone. I expect many budding entrepreneurs to come from us and build an ecosystem of Entrepreneurship on the Tier-2 & Tier-3 cities. Let’s help to light the spark of Entrepreneurship in small towns.
